It has been completely crazy week, in Helsinki on Monday/Tuesday, Frankfurt on Thursday and today I’m sitting at Heathrow airport waiting to get on a plane that will take me to the US for the first ever Rubber Doll World Rendezvous event. Mistress is meeting me at the event having spent a few days in New York before hand. My checked baggage contains four new wonderful outfits custom made for Britne’ by Bondinage and some equally wonderful matching boots by Natacha Marro, Britne’ can’t wait to show it all of!
Just as I board the plane a huge storm hits Heathrow, uh oh, I think that’s going to mean delays. Sure enough 10 minutes later the captain announces that we’re going to be delayed by at least half an hour, well if that’s all it is I’ll be fine for my connecting flight from Chicago to Minneapolis. One and a half hours later we finally push back from the stand, this means I’m going to miss my connecting flight so will have to get a later one which means I won’t get into Minneapolis until 8pm, Mistress will not be pleased!
We arrive at Chicago two hours late, as ever there’s a huge queue at immigration, its even looking tight for the later connecting flight. Passing through customs is somewhat unnerving as if they decide to inspect my baggage they’ll be in for a bit of a surprise! But still I clear immigration and customs smoothly and quickly make it to the AA checking desk and rebook on the later flight and check my baggage. Phew.
The flight to Minneapolis boards early, we may even get away early, of course things are never that easy, no there’s a technical fault and the flight is delayed by 40 minutes, oh dear things just keep getting worse. Arrive at Minneapolis at 8.40pm, but then have a 30 minute wait for baggage to arrive, come on, give me a break!
Its 9.45pm by the time I get to the Hotel, the receptionist mentions that Mistress has already checked in, but I am unable to contact her. I frantically try and contact people but I guess everyone is having fun as Mistress, Amanda Wildfire and Jean Bardot would have been playing with the dolls since much earlier in the day. This is quite disappointing but all I can do is get on and unpack my outfits, and after some thought I decide I’m going to dress as Nurse Britne’ tonight.
Its 11.30pm by the time I’ve unpacked and dressed, I hope people are still about, but still Britne is very pleased with her new nurse outfit!

As Britne’ goes to get in the elevator she notices a note saying, “Please do not use elevators when dressed as doll”. Hmm, so how am I supposed to get downstairs, no I’m using the elevator whatever. I get to the ground floor and step out of the elevator and immediately find myself with no very surprised looking gentlemen, “Oh my” one of them exclaims! Britne’ does a little curtsy and hurries across to the room where the event is supposed to be being held, there a lot of people in reception, I hear lots of gasps and laughter, oh dear I think Britne’ is a bit of surprise for the other hotel guests! Britne’ crosses the corridor and fins a curtained off area with a sign saying “Private function”, hmm the sign on the wall is pointing in there so it must be in there, so I go through. Hmm, there’s no one there! Best go and check at reception to make sure I’m in the right place, but better wait for the other guests to clear out from the corridor first. When they’ve all gone I walk out to reception, this take me past the bar where a young man looks up at me promptly spits his bear back into his glass! Hehe definitely making an impression!The man on reception is on the phone, when he sees me he looks a bit stunned, but takes it in his stride, “One moment please Madam”. As I stand there waiting other guest are coming and going, and getting an eyeful of Nurse Britne’, hmm its really very funny thinking about it now! “Yes Madam, what can I do for you?”, “I can’t find the rubber doll event can you point me in the right direction please”, “Certainly its just through there”. All credit to the guy, he managed to keep it all very together! But, he’s basically telling me to go where I’ve just been, hmm. I wonder back to the room, no still completely empty and locked up, I walk back over to the elevator. As I do this a group of people walk into reception. I hear a gasp and then, “Oh no, you can’t be out here!”, its Dana the event organiser and a bunch of other dolls all in civvies.
It turns out that things had petered out about half an hour before I came down, it also turns out that the Hotel has placed a bunch of last minute restrictions on the event, such as no dolls allowed out in the public areas including the lifts! Instead we have to use stairs between our floor and the area that the event is being held in. So we all head back up to the floor that we’re on and stand and chat for a little while, but it seems that everyone is a bit tired and wants to go to bed. The most annoying thing is that Britne’ missed the doll parade and didn’t get to meat Jean Bardot or Amanda Wildfire who were attending the opening ceremony L

Britne’ decides that she isn’t letting me off the hook just yet, nope she’s fully awake now and isn’t letting go just yet! So Nurse Britne’ decides to patrol the corridors looking for errant dolls to treat!

Nurse Britne’ posts some of her pictures on the RWR08 yahoo group to show the other dolls what she’s been up too, and then finally lets me undress and go to bed, not that I’m going to get much sleep given that its now 8am UK time. Sigh.
There’s an outdoor photo shoot this morning and a trip to the Ground Zero rubber ball this evening to look forward to, plus a couple of interesting work shops this afternoon, so should be a fun day.
I dress in my new light blue maids dress, it takes a bit longer to dress than expected, it really is difficult getting things just right when you’re dressing by yourself! But, Britne’ has arrived again and she heads off downstairs.
Mistress is in the vendor room when I get there, she introduces me to Michelle who is one of Mistresses rubber dolls that lives in Canada that she had invited to attend with her. Michelle is dressed in a femskin, Natori photogenic mask and a lovely black and white maids outfit from Honour, she looks great!
I have a wander around the vendor room and mingle with a few of the other dolls, but only get a couple of pictures, in retrospect should have gotten more! I have a chat with Steffy who is busy preparing for the work shop she’s giving later.

Mistress hasn’t seen any of my new outfits yet so we go up to my room so that she can have a look, she’s very happy with them and thinks that Bondinage have done a wonderful job.
We head back downstairs as its time for the outside photo shoot. As the weather is so bad we’re going to an arboretum that’s situated down town. Michelle offers to drive and myself her and Kim follow the others in two other cars, I can only imagine what other car drivers must think, and all credit to Michelle as she had to take her mask off to drive so doesn’t have that to hide behind!
At the arboretum Kim decides to stay in the car while we go and take some photo’s. Getting out of the car I discover just how cold it is, so we all hurry to get indoors, which thankfully is nice and warm!
The arboretum is wonderful, it has a large atrium with a fountain and a large glass fish sculpture, we do a group shot in front of the fish.

There are quite a few other people in the arboretum, but they generally seem very to take us in their stride! We head outside to do a do a couple of shots, on the way out we bump into a young couple who want to have their photo taken with us! Its still very cold outside…
We take one more out door shot before deciding that its too cold and head back to the hotel!
I’m having problems with my eyes for some reason, they’re becoming really itchy. I think its probably because they’re dry from all the flying that I’ve been doing in the last week, which is compounded by the fact that the eye holes in the mask basically direct jets of air at your eyes every time you breath in. Because of this I give myself 40 minutes without my mask on in the afternoon, this helps quite a bit.
Mistress has been invited to Amanda Wildfire’s dungeon for tea this afternoon, so I attend several session being held by Steffy and Melody in her absence. I arrive towards the end of the first session, Steffy is now dressed as a doll as well. In the second Steffi describes how to learn female mannerisms, its great with the doll each getting up and having a go at doing various tasks in the style of a woman. The most amusing part is when Masking Jo demonstrates how to pick an item up of the floor, basically giving the audience a wonderful view of her bottom! Britne’ was most unhappy with her performance during this activity as she gave a little stumble while bending down, tut tut! Melody’s session is very interesting, particularly where she describes how she created the eyes in her mask.
After the sessions a number of masks are auctioned off, last of which is a Natori photogenic mask. I bid as far as $275, but decide not to go any further as the mask ha snot been made with my head measurements in mind. One of the other dolls pays $480 for the mask, but this is still a real bargain given that they cost in the region of $1000 new.
Dana has arranged for a mini bus to take all the dolls to Ground Zero nightclub for the rubber ball, however myself and Michelle are going out for dinner with Mistress so we decide to make our own way to the club later. Over dinner Mistress describes how impressive Amanda Wildfires dungeon is and that it must be one of the finest play spaces in the world, especially for rubberists and medical players. After dinner myself and Michelle need to dress for the club, unfortunately by the time we’ve done this its gone 11pm so we’re already running late for the club! Britne’ has decided that she’s going to wear her nurses outfit again and Michelle is in rubber drag, annoyingly I forget to take a photograph of us!
Michelle is driving and we get to down town Minneapolis in good time, however when we get there we can’t find the club, with the directions not seeming to make much sense, and of course Nurse Britne’ isn’t a very good navigator when she’s wearing a mask and has left her glasses at the hotel! After about half an hour driving around we pull over and decide to try and find the club on foot. Needless to say as we’re walking around down town Minneapolis at midnight on Saturday we attract quite a bit of attention, this is a whole new experience for Britne’, she likes it, although the more boisterous drunken individuals are a little unnerving! Despite our little walk we still can’t find the club, but we find another one and the doorman tells us where to go, apparently there’s another 4th street on the other side of the river, groan!! So, we head back to the car and set off again, Michelle finds the club in no time, although its now 12.30am. As before I really have to admire Michelle for keeping it together during our little adventure as she didn’t have the anonymity of a mask to hide behind like Nurse Britne’.
As we enter the club a stage show is just starting, all the dolls from RWR are on stage!! Oh no, we’ve arrived too late to take part, as we watch the other dolls get to strut their stuff on the stage, and Steffy gets to perform an impromptu bondage act with Jean Bardot, Nurse Britne’ is most upset L. To make matter worse the dolls all got have some professional photographs taken back stage! Still as we get ourselves some drinks several people come up to Britne and complement her on her costume and quiet a few people take photo’s, but of course Nurse Britne’ completely forget to take any herself! We have a little look around the club, as well as the main stage and bar downstairs there’s a separate bar and play area upstairs where some mild BDSM is taking place. We meet up with a few of the other dolls while we’re up there, “We Are Latex” look particularly stunning their matching outfits. After an hour its time to head back to the hotel.
When we get back Michelle decides to go to bed but I stay up chatting with some of the other dolls until 5am, although I have to take my mask off again as my eyes are itching really badly again.
Groan, I don’t think polishing off a significant part of Latex Barbies whiskey was such a good idea, but I still manage to get up in time to meet Mistress and Michelle for breakfast. Unfortunately both of them are heading off today so poor little Britne’ will be on her own again.
In order to give my eyes a rest from the mask I decide to not dress for the morning sessions. The first one I attend is Steffy’s demonstration of a femskin.
Before meeting Steffy I had no idea that her figure is like this without the use of a corset!! Not convinced on the femskin as it stands as it had a couple of problems that need fixing, for example with larger breast forms fitted the chest tended to form a “mono” bust (apparently this can be fixed by gluing the forms in), and there where clearly some issues resulting from the one size fits all approach. That said Michelle was really happy with hers and I’m sure femskin will get lots of feedback from the event and they have to be given a lot of credit for creating a unique product!
After the femskin presentation I decide to go and get changed into my pink sissy maids outfit and I ask Latex Barbie to take a few photo’s of me (should have done the same for the blue maids dress yesterday!). Latex Barbie does a wonderful job!

The last session of the day is a sum up of the event by Dana, after which we get together for a group photo, it’s a real shame that many of the other dolls had already left at this point.

After the group photo shoot we all decided to go out for a meal, during this I had a wonderful chat with Steffy about our inspirations and what we aspire too as dolls. Bekki went to the meal wearing a rubber cat suit under her civvies which she flashed at our waitress, and Spirit showed her some photo’s of us all dolled up. This made quite a fun and amusing end to the first ever Rubberdoll World Rendezvous!
After the meal we go back to the Hotel where Bekki gets herself back into doll outfit and is put into bondage by Latex Barbie, Dana dresses and goes into the play room for some fun with some J-Lube! Nurse Britne’ wants to come out and treat someone, but jet lag has finally caught up with me and I’m asleep on my feet at this point so I have to go to bed (Sorry!).
So that’s it, I’m all packed and ready to fly back to the UK and I’m feeling rather sad that its all over, but I have to say this was one of the nicest bunch of folks I’ve ever met!
Still, there are some exciting developments afoot at Mistresses chambers that should make the next few months rather interesting.
